Dorset Eye Reviews Bear Necessities - and I'm just a Bit Gobsmacked
"An educational masterpiece that makes the reader laugh, reflect, and reconsider their own political perspectives."
As everyone (and their mother) knows by now, Bear Necessities of Politics and Power made its way into the world last week Thursday, and Dorset Eye just published the first review - and to say I’m gobsmacked (in the best way possible) is a massive understatement.
Here are a few highlights:
They begin with:
"In Bear Necessities of Politics and Power, Iratus Ursus Major has delivered a masterclass in political theory that combines wit, wisdom, and critical insight... a humorous, thought-provoking guide for seasoned readers and novices alike."
Dorset Eye seemed to enjoy the characterisation of ideologies - Liberalism as “The Eternal Optimist,” Conservatism as “The Stubborn Grandpa,” and Nationalism as “The Loudmouth Who Ruins the Game.” Bringing these ideologies to life was a joy, so I’m thrilled it resonated.
They go on to say:
"This book is not only an educational masterpiece but also a comedic work that makes the reader laugh, reflect, and reconsider their own political perspectives."
To be called an “educational masterpiece” is more than I’d dared hope for, but I’m so grateful they saw something special in it.

Thank you, Dorset Eye, for such a generous take - and to everyone who’s supported this bear’s first adventure into political theory.
I am truly humbled.
Well deserved Bear - love it!
What a fabulous review, no doubt a well deserved one too.
